Drug-Free Illinois Workplace Program

Eligible businesses in Champaign County can receive up to $5,000 worth of free drug testing for their employees through a program sponsored by the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce. The Drug-Free Illinois Workplace Program is designed to assist small to medium sized businesses with the cost of drug testing, a necessary and often costly component of safety in the workplace.

To be eligible for this program, a business should meet the following criteria:

  • Be a member of the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce and/or the Illinois State Chamber

  • Be located in the state of Illinois

  • Employ 500 or less full time employees in the local community

  • Have an existing drug-free workplace policy in place or be in the process of creating one

  • Not currently conducting the type of drug testing for which funding is requested, i.e., a business may currently do pre-employment drug testing, but now wants to conduct random drug testing

  • Not mandated by an agency of the state or federal government to conduct drug testing.

Funding for this program is provided by the Illinois Department of Human Service’s Division of Community Health and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. The Illinois State Chamber of Commerce is the coordinating agency for the program’s statewide efforts.

Drug testing services are provided by Carle Clinic Association, Christie Clinic, Provena Occupational Health, Prairie Center, and Safeworks Illinois. Businesses interested in applying for the grant can complete the application form found in the Members Only section of this website or contact Tiffany Bowie at the Chamber, 217.359.1791, or TiffanyB@champaigncounty.org.
