Seminars & Training
Several avenues
for seminars and training are available within
the Champaign County community. SCORE and the
Small Business Development Center are just two
of them, both located within the Chamber
offices.
Procurement Seminar Presentations
In August 2006 the Champaign County Chamber of
Commerce, in partnership with U of I
Administration and Departments, held a
procurement seminar for businesses to
"demystify" how to do business with the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The
"How to Do Business with the U of I" event was
so popular a second seminar was conducted in the
same month to accommodate the overflow of
businesses unable to attend the first one.
The seminar was designed to help business owners
and managers:
-
Identify the
types of external services the U of I uses;
-
Understand what
services and products qualify for a bid
process;
-
How to respond
to a Request for Proposal (RFP);
-
How to find out
when the U of I releases an RFP;
-
Where to seek
help in completing the RFP paperwork;
-
How to become a
certified vendor with the State of Illinois.
A two-part
power point presentation was used in these
seminars, and can be viewed by clicking on the
