Stephen Wolfram, CEO of one of Champaign county’s top employers, Wolfram Research, Inc., is hosting a discussion, book signing, and networking event to celebrate the launch of his new book, Adventures of a Computational Explorer. The event will be at the Champaign Barnes & Noble, located at Marketview Shopping Center, 65 E Marketview Drive. It will take place December 11 at 6pm and last no more than an hour and a half. The evening will consist of remarks from the author with time for Q&A, followed by time for book signing and networking. This event is free for the public and requires no tickets or advanced registration. Dr. Wolfram's latest book focuses on what has become the driving force behind all of his work: computational thinking. It covers hot topics like the ethics of AI and groundbreaking research like the ongoing process of creating a language that can be understood outside the bounds of our universe. Wolfram is best known for his creation of Wolfram|Alpha, Mathematica, and the Wolfram Language for computer programing. The book is written for the general audience and requires no advanced prior knowledge of computation or computer programing. It's a great read for adults, but also a good source of STEM-related inspiration for middle and high school students. Join us to discover where computation will take us next! Come early for the chance to win Wolfram books, gear, and products.
