Summary: Learn to identify the common signs, patterns & symptoms of substance abuse &/or mental illness in the workplace & how to approach individual about this topic. Practical tools will be identified to assist affected employees, including; definition of reasonable suspicion, understanding addiction, & common steps used for intervention.

Presenter: Sandra Beecher, CRADC, SAP, PCGC, MISA
Sandra is the Senior Business Development Coordinator at Gateway Foundation, alcohol and drug treatment center. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Degree (MA) is a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CRADC), a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) as well as a Compulsive Gambling Counselor (PCGC). She has also been accredited as a professional provider to clients with co-occurring conditions (MISA I).
Sandra has been active in the field of social service for more than 25 years and has conducted numerous national, regional and local presentations on a variety of topics related to addiction and mental health.
Sandra is passionate about working with and advocating for individuals and families suffering due to the disease of addiction.
