    The Director of Operations (DOO) will:

    • Lead the dining and environmental services teams towards operational excellence : quality services, experiences and environments, warm hospitality, and safety.

    • Foster innovation and demonstrate curiosity about industry trends and best practices, seeking to improve operations and meet the ever-changing customer expectations

    • Ensure an environment of accountability , communication and timeliness

    • Ensure that operations meet local, state and federal regulations governing living environment s and services for older adults

    • Be a member of the leadership team , reporting to the Chief Operating Officer

    • Oversee vendor contracts, budgets, and projects as they relate to dining an d environmental services operations

    Successful candidates will (or be willing to learn):

    • Demonstrate friendliness, adaptability and empathy

    • Be a leader who is collaborative and capable of making important decisions with a team

    • Enjoy building relationships, particularly with older adults

    • Be creative and enjoy change and new ideas that will result in improved efficiency, effectiveness and/or service provision

    • Have a coaching focus , helping the team grow in their careers , including having hard conversations and giving feedback to ensure operational excellence

    • Have a knack for data and metrics , and strong competency in Excel and other Microsoft products

    What your background might look like:

    • Hospitality - Hotel or Restaurant manager or assistant manager

    • Healthcare / hospital operations management

    • Facilities manager

    • Regularly read leadership books or participate in leadership education, and enjoy putting your learning into practice

    • At least three years of operations experience
