    Cunningham Children’s Home is an agency committed to the mission of nourishing hope through effective solutions so children and youth thrive and families flourish. Cunningham Children’s Home is adding a new program devoted to engaging families of children and youth who have become involved with the Juvenile Justice system in Champaign County. This program will provide trauma-informed and culturally competent therapeutic services to promote resiliency in these families.

    Family Therapist

    • Works as the team lead in conjunction with the Family Support Specialist to provide trauma informed therapeutic services to promote resiliency in families.
    • Involves the family in the assessment process and collaboratively designs the intervention plans that drive intensive family engagement services.
    • Successful candidates will have a Master’s Degree in human services preferably social work, clinical or counseling psychology or related fields.
    • Previous clinical mental health related experience with children and families preferred. Self discipline, highly developed understanding of confidentiality, desire, and ability to work cooperatively with a treatment team is required.

    Must possess a valid Illinois Drivers License and proof of current automobile liability insurance. Must possess a motor vehicle which is capable of being used on the job when necessary for transporting clients. Proof of automobile liability insurance must be provided regularly. Must have a driving record which enables one to transport children for a licensed child welfare facility in the State of Illinois.

    This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling required, including some evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the families.
