    Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, IL is looking to hire a full- and part-time Youth Counselors. Are you looking to learn new things and build a successful career?     A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A YOUTH COUNSELOR
    As a Youth Counselor, you work directly with the youth in our programs and provide therapeutic intervention. All of our wellness treatment plans are very specific, so you make sure to follow them as closely as possible. Kind and understanding, you make sure that people are always comfortable enough to openly communicate with you. You are always patient and willing to listen. Although your work is physically and mentally demanding, you feel good about helping others who are in need and making a positive impact on their lives!

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR A YOUTH COUNSELOR

    • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions will require a bachelor’s degree or at least five years of experience in a mental health or human services field)
    • At least 21 years of age
    • Valid Illinois driver's license
    • Having fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in both English and Spanish would be beneficial for some positions

    WORK SCHEDULE

    We have a 24/7 program, and a variety of shift options available including:

    • 1 pm to 11 pm
    • 11 pm to 9 am
    • 7 am to 9 am, M-F (PT)
    • 7 pm to 11 pm (PT)

    We have set schedules for our rotations so you have a very consistent schedule!
