  • 2019 CHAMBER ANNUAL MEETING: PERFECTING YOUR PITCH
    On Friday, October 25, 2019, the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce celebrated another year of success at our Annual Meeting which was themed Perfecting Your Pitch. This year the theme focused on storytelling and pitching which are essential skills when it comes to business. A very special thank you to H Squared Leadership Institute, who was the title sponsor, as well as our mid-level sponsors Busey, Iroquois Federal, Fisher National Bank, OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center and Rosecrance.     OCTOBER FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Rogards hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light, breakfast including donuts from Industrial Donut and coffee from Columbia Street Roastery. The hosts also gave away a new office chair, a notebook gift pack and a Industrial Donut Gift Cad to three lucky attendees. Thank you again to the hosts for welcoming us all so graciously and to all the local business professionals that joined us at First Friday Coffee.

    SEPTEMBER BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Adams Outdoor Advertising hosted the September Business After Hours. Over 60 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided "tailgate" themed hors d'oeuvres and drinks They also gave away a gift basket.

    SEPTEMBER FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Chemical Maintenance, Inc. hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light, breakfast including donuts from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also gave away a gift basket of cleaning supplies to one lucky attendee. Thank you again to the hosts for welcoming us all so graciously and to all the local business professionals that joined us at First Friday Coffee. 

    AUGUST BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Napleton's Auto Park of Urbana hosted the July Business After Hours. Over 70 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided hors d'oeuvres and drinks from Nelson's Catering. They also gave away a few different gift baskets.

    AUGUST FIRST FRIDAY 
    Prairie State Bank & Trust hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light, breakfast including donuts from Industrial Donut. The hosts also gave away a coffee themed gift basket to one lucky attendee.     JULY BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    How cool is this Business After Hours location? Flightstar hosted the July Business After Hours. Over 75 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided hors d'oeuvres and drinks from Classic Events Catering. They also gave away t-shirts, bags and other Flightstar swag to attendees.

    2019 COME WINE WITH US
    Sponsored by the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness committee. Come Wine With Us which celebrates Champaign County's strong roots in agriculture was held at Curtis Orchard. A very special thank you to the 22 different Chamber members were represented as booth sponsors. Over 175 people were in attendance for the event. One lucky winner walked away with the 60 bottles of wine supplied by Sun Singer. Thank you to all of those that attended and the various vendors and sponsors and volunteers. We'd also like to thank Skeff Distributing for donating all the beer for the event. We hope to see you all next year!

    JUNE FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    United Way of Champaign County hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Hendrick House. The hosts also gave away two gift baskets to one lucky winner. Thank you again to the hosts for welcoming us all so graciously and to all the local business professionals that joined us at First Friday Coffee. 

    2019 CHAMBER GOLF OUTING
    The 2019 Chamber Golf Outing was held at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana on June 6 and was title sponsored by Napleton's Auto Park of Urbana. This year, the event SOLD OUT both hole sponsorships AND golfers. We had 25+ raffle prizes, great contests, company and more. Thank you to Attie's Bar and Grill for providing our golfers with lunch, dinner and beverages on the course. Thank you to Legacy Roofing and Restoration for providing golf balls for each player and CIBM Bank for being our Hole-In-One sponsor. Thank you to all of our other hole sponsors as well as those who donated raffle prizes and items for the golfer bags. A very special thank you to all individuals who were involved in making the 2019Chamber Golf Outing a huge success - we could not have done it without you.

    MAY BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    The Legends Apartments hosted the May Business After Hours. Over 80 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided hors d'oeuvres and drinks from Nelson's Catering. They also had a drawing for a summer essentials themed gift bag.

    MAY FIRST FRIDAY
    Merrill Lynch hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light, Kentucky Derby themed breakfast from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also gave away a derby themed gift basket to one lucky winner.     APRIL BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Pour Bros. Craft Taproom hosted the March Business After Hours. Over 85 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided sandwiches from Jimmy Johns and attendees were given drinks from the one-of-a-kind pour wall or the bar. 

    APRIL FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Habitat for Humanity hosted First Friday Coffee this month at the ReStore. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine.     MARCH BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Busey hosted the March Business After Hours. Over 75 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Michaels' Catering. They also gave away an Illini themed basket.

    Wells Fargo Advisors hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Great Harvest Bread Co.     FEBRUARY BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    ATI Physical Therapy hosted the February Business After Hours. Over 75 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Michaels' Catering. They also gave away a FitBit. During the event, the hosts gave a special presentation about the ATI Foundation and gifted two families some incredible gifts.

    ATHENA AWARDS
    On February 21, 2019, the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce and members of the community celebrated the accomplishments of two great women. Christy Devocelle, senior vice president and chief financial officer of the University of Illinois Foundation was named the 2019 ATHENA Award® Recipient. Abby Hendren, executive vice president, brand strategies at Busey, was named the 2019 ATHENA Young Professional Award® Recipient. The program was sponsored by Spherion Champaign Illinois. The lapel pin was sponsored by Busey Wealth Management. Cookies by Design provided dessert for the event. There were over 140 people in attendance for the event, which was held at the Champaign Country Club. Thank you to the support of our great chamber members and community.     HealthSource Chiropractic hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 65 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee and did giveaways for a free initial exam and a gift card.     JANUARY BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Nelson's Catering hosted the Jnuary Business After Hours at the Laborers Local 703 Union Hall in downtown Champaign. Over 55 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks.
