CHAMPAIGN COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES NEW ALL IN INITIATIVE
Chamber encourages Champaign County residents to participate in masking efforts
in order to keep businesses open
The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce launches a new initiative: Chambers All In for Economic Recovery. Going All In is a new state-wide initiative that compliments the state’s existing All In message to encourage the community to participate in state health and safety practices, particularly mask-wearing. As the state remains in Tier 3 mitigations, everyone can do their part to keep our local businesses open by wearing a mask and following other public health safety guidelines.
Chambers All In for Economic Recovery is a chambers of commerce collaboration of chambers across the state of Illinois. It is the mission of all chambers to support our business communities and help ensure that businesses can thrive for years to come. Chambers All In encourages residents to wear a mask to keep businesses open and help prevent further mitigation measures including a stay-at-home order.
“There are many actions that can turn flatten the curve in this pandemic and wearing a mask is one of the simplest things we can do. Just like when we ask our community to support local businesses by shopping or eating local, wearing a mask is just one more way to support our local businesses. Businesses can be open if we, as residents, simply comply. People consistently wearing masks in public or around people outside of their ‘bubble’ will result in a positive impact on the economy. We can have some sense of normalcy with shopping and eating out if we can just all commit to masking up” said president & CEO Laura Weis. “The bottom line is that we cannot afford to have another Illinois business close its doors. We know that Champaign County residents have been really good about masking up, but we are joining this statewide initiative and urging our community to go all in because the success of our local economy is dependent on the success of the larger statewide economy,” she continued.
Residents are encouraged to go all in with the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce by practicing proper mask wearing behaviors and following other health and safety guidelines. Additionally, the community can engage with the initiative by following the Chamber on social media: Facebook (@ccountychamber) Instagram (@ccounty_chamber) and twitter (@ccountychamber).
