  • DECEMBER BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Gibson Teldata hosted the December Business After Hours at Hamilton Walker's in downtown Champaign. Over 95 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Hamilton Walker's.

    DECEMBER FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Parkland College Community Education hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also did a giveaways for class vouchers as well as centerpieces made by horticulture students. Thank you again to the hosts for welcoming us all so graciously and to all the local business professionals that joined at First Friday Coffee.

    NOVEMBER BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Carpet Weaver's Flooring & Furniture Gallery hosted the November Business After Hours. Over 70 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Classic Events Catering. They also did a number of drawings and giveaways at the event.

    2018 ANNIAL MEETING: DR. ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD
    On Friday, November 2, 2018, the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce celebrated another year of success at our Annual Meeting which was themed 'Dr. Roger's Neighborhood, a parody of the popular children's show, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. A very special thank you to OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center , who was the title sponsor, as well as our mid-level sponsors Busey, Iroquois Federal, Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District, Ramshaw Real Estate, Reynolds Towing Service and Rosecrance. Our table sponsors were: BankChampaign, NA, Carle, CliftonLarsonAllen, Commerce Bank, Consolidated Communications, DSC Developmental Services Center, First Mid Bank & Trust, Fisher National Bank, Gordy Hulten for Champaign County Executive, Martin Hood, Midland States Bank, Parkland College, Regency Multifamily, Rogards, The Snyder Companies, Stocks Office Furniture, and University of Illinois Office of Corporate Relations. We would also like to thank Tim Anderson, Tim Lybarger (Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Archive) and Parkland College Theatre Productions. We had an over 350 chamber members in attendance and it was wonderful to see so many of our members represented at this event. The 2018 Small Business of the Year was also presented to Thomas, Mamer & Haughey. For more information about their award, please visit our website. With an annual meeting unlike any other in the area, we were happy to announce moticational speaker, Andrew Tarvin: Humor Engineer as this year's entertainment. Andrew spoke about the importance of humor in the workplace and how it can be an important tool on the path to success. We cannot thank you all enough for joining us at the event.     Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County hosted First Friday Coffee this month at their ReStore location. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also did a giveaway for a gift card to the ReStore.     OCTOBER BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Honda-BMW of Champaign hosted the October Business After Hours. Over 70 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Michaels' Catering. They also did a drawing for a complete car detail. 

    2018 CANDIDATE BREAKFAST
    The final breakfast of our 2018 Fall Breakfast Series was held on October 11 and was our candidate breakfast. We had 14 candidates running for various offices join us to discuss their viewpoints ahead of the upcoming election on November 6. Thank you to the over 85 Chamber members who joined us at the breakfast which was held at Cityview Banquet and Meeting Center from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.

    OCTOBER FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Spherion Champaign Illinois hosted First Friday Coffee this month. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also did a few giveaways. Thank you again to the hosts for welcoming us all so graciously and to all the local business professionals that joined at First Friday Coffee. 

    SEPTEMBER BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center hosted the September Business After Hours. Over 65 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Biaggi's. They also did a few different giveaways to several attendees.

    Graybar hosted First Friday Coffee this month at their Champaign location. Over 50 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a bagels and coffee from Einstein Bros. Bagels. The hosts also did four different giveaways for gift cards to Meijer.     AUGUST BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Visit Champaign County hosted the August Business After Hours. Over 80 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from various restaurants. See you all next month!

    AUGUST FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Farnsworth Group hosted First Friday Coffee this month at their Champaign location. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also did five different giveaways for gift cards to different Chamber member businesses.     JULY BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    First Bank in Savoy hosted the July Business After Hours. Over 50 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Hickory River Smokehouse. See you all next month!

    COME WINE WITH US
    Despite the rain we still had a great time at #ComeWineWithUs last week at Parkland College. Thank you to the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee for sponsoring as well as Skeff Distributing Company, Inc. and Sun Singer for providing the beverages.

    GOLF OUTING
    The 2018 Chamber Golf Outing was held at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana on June 7, 2018 and was title sponsored by Lodgic Champaign. This year, the event SOLD OUT both hole sponsorships AND golfers. We had 30+ raffle prizes, great contests, company and more. Thank you to Skeff Distributing Company, Inc. for providing all refreshments for the participants out on the course, Moe's Southwest Grill for providing lunch, Dish Passionate Cuisine for providing dinner, Express Employment Professionals - Champaign, IL for providing golf balls for each player and The Snyder Companies for being our Hole-In-One sponsor. Thank you to all of our other hole sponsors as well as those who donated raffle prizes and items for the golfer bags. A very special thank you to all individuals who were involved in making the 2018 Chamber Golf Outing a huge success - we could not have done it without you.

    JUNE FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Servpro of Champaign/Urbana & Vermilion County hosted First Friday Coffee this month at their Champaign location. Over 50 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also did a giveaway for a soft sided cooler and some travel mugs. Reminder - there will not be a First Friday Coffee in July due to the Independence Day holiday.

    MAY BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Sullivan-Parkhill Automotive hosted the May Business After Hours. Over 60 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Michaels' Catering. Reminder: there will not be a Business After Hours next month. Instead, we invite you to come learn about Champaign County's strong roots in agriculture at #ComeWineWithUs on June 19 at Parkland College.

    First State Bank hosted First Friday Coffee this month at their Champaign location. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. There was a great mix of businesses represented at the event. The hosts provided a light "Cinco de Mayo" themed breakfast and coffee from Dish Passionate Cuisine. The hosts also did a giveaway for two Commerce Cards which can be used a variety of Chamber member restaurants and businesses.     APRIL BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
    Consolidated Communications hosted the April Business After Hours. Over 60 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks from Classic Events Catering. They also gave away 2018 Golf Tour Extravaganza card and a Gift Card to BJ Grand Salon & Spa to two lucky attendees. We look forward to seeing you all at the Business After Hours next month!

    Illinois National Bank hosted First Friday Coffee this month at their new location on Neil St. Over 60 people joined their team and the Chamber staff.     MARCH FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE
    Cunningham Children's Home was the host of the First Friday Coffee this month. Over 50 people joined their team and the Chamber staff. The hosts also held a drawing and gave away two tickets to their upcoming Fesitval of Quilts and some other swag.     Willard Airport (Fly Champaign-Urbana) hosted the February Business After Hours. Over 70 people were in attendance. It was great to see a variety of businesses and professionals represented at the event. The host provided a delicious selection of food and drinks. They also gave away some fun FLY CU swag.     ATHENA LUNCHEON
    On February 15, 2018, the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce and members of the community celebrated the accomplishments of two great women. City of Champaign - Municipal Government Mayor Deb Frank-Feinen was named the 2018 ATHENA Award® Recipient. Laura Edwards, community relations coordinator at Clark-Lindsey, was named the 2018 ATHENA Young Professional Award® Recipient. The program was sponsored by Spherion Champaign Illinois. The lapel pin was sponsored by Busey Wealth Management. There were over 130 people in attendance for the event, which was held at the Champaign Country Club. Thank you to the support of our great chamber members and community. Congratulation again, Deb and Laura.

    FEBRUARY BREAKFAST
    Our Spring Breakfast Series kicked off on February 8 with certified Google speaker Dave Delaney. Dave gave Chamber members "Tips for Measuring Online Success" and discussed different ways to measure and track the success of your online presence. Thank you to the over 70 Chamber members who joined us for the first breakfast of our spring series which was held at Stone Creek Golf Club from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. Don't forget to join us for the other two breakfast in the Spring Series: March 8 - "I Knew You Were Going to Do That" April 12 - "Don't Be Held for Ransom"
