• Scarecrow Hunt

  • The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce Foundation wants you to participate in our first ever Scarecrow Hunt to benefit the iRead • iCount program.

All you have to do is decorate your best scarecrow(s) outside your place of business - bonus points for creativity! (rules apply)

The Chamber will promote the event to the Champaign County community across multiple platforms. The hunt is intended to be family-oriented activity that will encourage people to visit our local businesses; give families a break from the stress of COVID and encourage people to be outdoors before the weather changes.

Scarecrows will be displayed between Monday, October 19 and Monday, November 2.

    Participation fee: $75 (per business/location)

Money raised from this event will go towards materials and other operating expenses associated with the iRead • iCount program. iRead  iCount is a community initiative designed to help reduce the achievement gap in our schools. It gives the students who need extra help with reading and math additional one-on-one instructional time with a caring volunteer.

In order to have time to promote the participating businesses and their scarecrows, the sign-up deadline is Friday, October 9. Have fun with it. Engage your staff and test their creativity. A prize will be awarded for the most ‘voted’ on scarecrow.
